Man jailed over London bomber hoax.

A man has been jailed for four months for claiming to have been the fifth London bomber in the July 7 attacks.Imran Patel, 27, was sentenced at Leeds Magistrates Court, after admitting wasting over 4,000 hours of police time with the hoax claim.

The court heard how Patel, who was from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, made the false claims to ‘News of the World’ journalist Mazher Mahmood.

The newspaper then alerted police, who arrested Patel at his home in October. At sentencing Judge David Kitson said that Patel’s actions had diverted “valuable and specialist police resources” from pursuing genuine lines of inquiry.Judge Kitson also said that an immediate custodial sentence was appropriate, because the offence was so serious.

London bombing 'recruit' arrested

LONDON, England (AP) -- British police said Sunday they arrested a man who reportedly said he was asked to join the group of suicide bombers who attacked London in July.
London's Metropolitan Police said anti-terrorist officers arrested a 27-year-old man in the Dewsbury area of West Yorkshire late Saturday.

On 11 November 2005 the Private Eye disclosed, "Another victory for News of the World fake sheikh Mazhar Mahmood, who, for one reason or other, is seeing an increasing number of his scoops resulting in police investigations these days....

Imran Patel, "a fanatic who has had arms training in Pakistan", told Mahmood that he had been "groomed" to be the fifth suicide bomber in London on 7 July before getting cold feet and pulling out.

As is the usual routine, News of the World handed its dossier on Patel to the Anti-Terrorism squad, who obigingly arrested him on the Saturday evening....questioning him at length and rather less obligingly, charging him with wasting police time.

So how did the paper deal deal with this fascinating postscript to its tale the following Sunday? Did it reassure readers that there was in fact no need to worry about the dire warnings of primed fanatics in their midst it has spread over 1000 words the week before? Er, it did not print another word on the matter".

FBI had DNA samples of 9-11 terrorists before attack

According to the New York Daily news:

To begin with, Shaler's office could not identify the three by name. That's because the 10 DNA profiles used to make the first matches were supplied by the FBI without names attached.

"No names, just a K code, which is how the FBI designates 'knowns,' or specimens it knows the origins of," Shaler wrote. "Of course, we had no direct knowledge of how the FBI obtained the terrorists' DNA."

9/11 parts split by good and evil

BY PAUL D. COLFORDNY DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

The city scientist who led the effort to identify 9/11 victims said officials made sure to keep the remains of the three terrorists identified away from those of the innocents killed.

The remains of the killers were removed from the medical examiner's makeshift memorial park on the East Side and "put in another place," Robert Shaler, former head of the medical examiner's forensic unit, told the Daily News.

In "Who They Were," his new inside account of the identification effort, Shaler writes that he believes the terrorists identified were in the back of the planes - and not the monsters who plowed the jets into the towers.

"I still doubt the pilots have anything remaining to collect or analyze," he writes. "Likely, they were vaporized along with many of the innocent victims."

Shaler recounts with fresh detail the scientific challenge and personal anguish that marked the more than three years it took to process the bodies and 20,000 body parts recovered from Ground Zero.

Though the remains of 1,594 of the 2,749 WTC victims have so far been identified by name, Shaler makes clear the terrorists were a case apart.

Terrorist remains were separated from the others, to allay families' concern that the killers might someday be commingled with the unidentified remnants of their victims, due to rest at the Trade Center site.

Shaler said he didn't know where the terrorists' remains are now but assumed they are kept somewhere in the city."We didn't say where we put the terrorists' remains because it's not important," the medical examiner's spokeswoman, Ellen Borakove, said yesterday, adding she did not know the location herself.

From the site valis:

There is a flaw with the entire premise that dna was recovered from the wreckage at the WTC, and that is that the engines recovered from the crashed planes were from a 737, not a 767 as the official story claims.

And if the plane was not a 767, but a 737 as the photos reveal, then it couldn't have been flight 175 and no passenger's (or terrorist's) dna could have been recovered.
